The Garretts have received a letter from Billy Graham Ministries regarding their "Jesus Walks" CD, saying they were impressed with the CD and have encouraged the Garretts to serve the Lord with the talents "He" gave them.

A short time ago, the Garrett's did a chapel service at the Drumheller prison, where I am a Chaplain. Inviting strangers to do this can be a risky practice but a local church pastor offered to share their ministry with us. Little did we realize the treat we were in for.

You could not ask for a more down to earth couple. Debbie and Jesse are so genuine and sincere. The only way I can think to describe them is; "They are real people!"

If you are a Chaplain or a pastor, which I have been for years, you probably shudder when outside guests do not relate well to the inmates. Inmates do not take kindly to superficiality. Nothing turns them off faster than a phony. The Garrett's are not pretentious put on airs. They are "real, genuine, down to earth people!"

Unlike many singing duos they do mostly their "own stuff", songs which they themselves have written and composed. Their lyrics come from their hearts, and penetrate into the depth of the listener's heart.

Country Western Gospel music (if sung well), can have great appeal to a prison audience. The Drumheller prison population loved the Garrett's and their music. I will definitely have them back again.

If you are considering booking the Garrett's, I encourage you to do so! Jesse's life story is a powerful example of God's power to save a rugged and self-made man. His humble testimony will bring hope and encouragement to hopeless and grief-stricken hearts.

I first came in contact with the Garretts on telephone as I made arrangements with them to do the Special Music at our Oct. 2000 monthly breakfast meeting. This led to having Jesse give his personal testimony of what God has done in his life at our Dec. 2000 Christmas Banquet and having them back for Special Music a number of times.
What impressed me was that the country gospel music they sing and a number Jesse has written tell a story (Christian) and are sincere and from the heart and have a good melody.
Jesse and Debbie are dedicated to bring God's message of love to the people. They have had a ministry of taking this message through their music and songs and Jesse's testimony of a tragic happening that changed his life forever to many senior citizen homes, often forgotten people, and they go free of charge. The last two weeks before this past Christmas they took their music to 12 senior citizen homes in Peterborough and surrounding area. Their dedication is going full tilt to serve the Lord.

Debbie and Jesse have been entertaining the residents at Frost Manor for several years.
The residents thoroughly enjoy their visits. The Garretts are wonderful entertainers, yet they are much more, they are a gift to the residents.
Before and after their music program we enjoy fellowship time with them, it is always fun and full of laughter. Both Debbie and Jesse show immense respect and love to each and every resident. We are truly blessed by having them come into our home. They will be a fantastic addition to your program.
